Where the two worlds collide

Dianne Pilkington, the English actress who plays Belinda, says of the scene:

"It is such a nice thing to do - have the two worlds [India, England] meet. The two women are basically representative of Ash's two sides in the struggle

that he has."

"We are looking back at our history and identifying some quite atrocious things

that have happened on both sides and that is covered in the musical,"

"It is interesting for British people to look at what we did way back in history

and find some interesting parallels with some things happening now; the blinkered belief that you are right that has happened all the way through

history, not just in Britain but in every country. That is sensitively handled in the musical."

Her Belinda is utterly believable.
